Clients

My personal training clients range in age, ability, fitness levels & their overall aims. My clients goals range from wishing to lose weight for a special occasion, wanting to prepare for a certain event such as Race for Life, or losing weight in order to drop a clothes size or two.

"I signed up for Paula's 10 week course after months of illness & stress as I needed to do something positive. I've just completed the first 10 weeks & immediately signed up for another 10 weeks. As well as the 1-2-1 session each week, Paula designed an exercise programme taking into account my specific injuries & concerns (in my case knee operations & asthma) that was easy to follow at home. At the end of the 10 weeks, I had lost 4% body fat & am about to go down a dress size.

I am fitter, happier & more motivated which is having a beneficial affect on my health. Paula is great fun to work with hugely supportive. I was slightly nervous of taking on a personal trainer, but it as been 100% worth it & the benefits speak for themselves"

“Paula is a pleasure to work with, never losing enthusiasm for the job in hand!  She never fails to impress me with her detailed knowledge of the workings of the human body - I learn something new from her every week.  Paula makes it all just great fun; she constantly changes the routines which means you are never bored.  Paula works with you through all the difficult areas, and I’ve had plenty, and never allows you to become despondent.  Not only is Paula great fun, but she gets the job done - I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

"Paula has been inspirational in getting me fit and active; her encouraging and motivating style has taken me from lazy and overweight to being keen to get outdoors and enjoy the aspects of life that fitness brings. My individual training programme took into account the things that mattered to me, and I was delighted as I achieved each of my goals. Paula has been totally supportive throughout my journey and I can wholeheartedly recommend her professional and effective approach. The time I have spent training with her has been truly life changing, thank you Paula."

My sports massage clients are also very varied. Some clients I see every week to treat on-going injuries or to keep their muscles in good shape if they are doing a lot of training. One client I saw two to three times a week while I was based in Cambridge is Sharron Murgatroyd. Sharron was an established jump jockey until a devastating fall at Bangor in 1991 left her paralysed from the neck down. Sharron needs regular massage therapy to ease the muscles in her neck, shoulders & arms. This treatment is financed by the Injured Jockey's Fund.

Sharron's autobiography 'Jump Jockeys Don't Cry is an essential read for everyone who likes taking a risk, both in life & in sport. The proceeds from this book go to the Injured Jockeys Fund, thereby helping to fund much needed treatment for Sharron & other injured jockeys like her.
